Rachel McPheeters
As a child, my dream was to be a rock star. Early influences included Tiffany, Madonna, Janet Jackson and later Britney and Lady Gaga. I used to mouth every lyric in my bedroom mirror imagining that I was making my own music videos! A few talent contests in high school and college sparked my love for live performance singing favorites from my country influences like Shania, Wynonna, and the Dixie Chicks. Bar hopping for local karaoke became my thing; I always connected with singers of all ages who simply loved it as much as I did! Those connections got me the chance to sing for four years in a 60’s band The Relics; my repertoire broadened even more. Ultimately, that experience fueled my and Chip’s dream to start our own band Rockin’ Moxie. Who could be more blessed to share the stage with the incredible talents and work ethic of their spouse, mother, and friends? It’s been quite the ride living out my childhood dream of being a rock star!
